We are a team of professional journalists, editors, illustrators, translators, communicators and designers. We collect, record and narrate people\u2019s stories during the full-scale war which Russia has started against Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n We talk to people who have lived in shelters and basement rooms for weeks. People who have no water, food or electricity. People who try to leave the occupied and surrounded towns at a risk to their lives. People who have lost their loved ones during shelling and bombing by the Russian military in their cities. People who deliver babies in basements.<\/span><\/p>\n We record the daily life, thoughts and emotions of people who have already lost their homes, people who go to the frontline to fight, people who volunteer, who defend their own folk, who fear and fight.<\/span><\/p>\n We translate their stories into more than ten languages to show the human face of Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine to the whole world.<\/span><\/p>\n We also urge foreigners in all countries to come out to protest, to demand that their governments provide Ukraine with aircraft and close the sky, to support Ukrainian refugees, to disseminate the information about war crimes, to boycott Russian commodities and cultural products, to support volunteers and to donate to organizations which support Ukraine during the war.<\/span><\/p>\n Share your stories with people abroad. A group of journalists, illustrators and translators in Ukraine have created pages on Facebook and Instagram titled War. Stories from Ukraine. They record and tell the stories of Ukrainian men and women who suddenly found themselves amid war\u2014 at 5 am on Thursday, February 24, just in their beds.<\/p> How do Ukrainians feel, what are they afraid of, what did they take with them as they were running away from their homes and why did they stay in cities currently attacked by Grad rocket launchers? What does their life look like under fire? Where do they find strength to help others? What are they afraid of and what do they dream about?<\/p> When they wake up, they don\u2019t know if they still have a home. Many no longer have it, and some are losing them for the second time: in 2014, they were forced to flee the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions and the Crimea which were occupied by Russia.<\/p> These people worked as waitresses, lawyers, owned grocery stores, drove a taxi, studied and lived the same life as everyone else in Europe. With the only difference that Russia was nearby.<\/p> Stories are now available in Ukrainian, English, French, German, Spanish, Lithuanian, Polish, Czech, and Swedish.
